The Club

145 years of blue & gold

The Churchill Cougars are one of the North Gippsland Football Netball League's proudest and most successful clubs. Across our Mid Gippsland and North Gippsland eras the club has claimed 26 football premierships — flags won across seniors, reserves and thirds. From our home at Gaskin Park, we field senior and junior footy sides and netball teams across every grade, all under the one banner.

We're more than a football club. We're a place where families gather every weekend, where kids learn the game, and where the Latrobe Valley comes together. New players, netballers, volunteers and supporters are always welcome.

The things members (and the committee) ask most.

🎟️ How do members get into home games free?
Your digital membership card lives on your phone with a live QR pass. At the Gaskin Park gate a volunteer scans it — green tick, you're in. The code refreshes every 30 seconds like a concert ticket, so screenshots can't be shared or reused — one member, one entry.
🎱 What is Cougar Keno?
A club draw with 100 numbers (0001–0100). For a small yearly add-on to your membership you pick your own number and you're in every draw. Strictly limited to 100 — when a member stops paying, their number is held for a 1-month grace period and then released for someone new.
📱 What if someone doesn't have a smartphone?
No problem — the gate volunteer can look any member up by name or member number in the club's member list, and the club can print a card for anyone who'd like one.
💳 Does the club pay fees on website payments?
Only if it chooses to. The site offers bank transfer (PayID) with zero fees — money lands straight in the club's account — and optional card payments (~1.75% + 30¢) for instant convenience. The club decides which to promote.
👕 How do I get my merch or membership pack?
Everything is collected at the club on home-game days. Every order appears on the committee's orders list with your name, so nothing goes missing — and you'll get an emailed receipt.
🛠️ Who keeps the website up to date?
The committee — no tech skills needed. A simple Club Admin login lets you add functions, update merch and post news in seconds, while fixtures, results and ladders update automatically from PlayHQ.
🔒 Is member information safe?
Yes — logins and member details are stored in a secure members database, payments are handled by bank-grade providers (the club never sees card numbers), and the club's privacy policy covers how information is used.
🏉 Can I register to play through the site?
Playing registrations still go through PlayHQ as required by the league — the site links you straight there, and covers everything else: membership, merch, fixtures, functions and news.
